The assessment mechanism of Universidad de la Costa CUC, the awarding

institution of my degree in Civil Engineering, consists of three major grades

for every subject that are taken during the semester and refer to partial
evaluations or class participation. The final grade at the end of the semester
for every subject is the average of the three mentioned grades.
As a matter of an example lets suppose the subject of soil mechanics, in my
particular case the grade of my first partial evaluation was five (5), the
second grade corresponded to group workshop and class participation in
which I scored three point eight (3.8) and the final grade corresponded to a
final evaluation at the end of the semester in which I scored three point
eight (3.8). The final grade was the average of five (5), three point eight
(3.8) and three point eight (3.8) which is four point two (4.2).
