YOUR TEACHING TASK

303 Monday morning 30 mins and Tuesday morning one hour.

PLANNING
1. For my group of third grade we were working on places in a school. We learned new
vocabulary. (example janitors room, nurses office because they do not have a nurse at
their school.)
2. For my fourth grade students we had a worksheet on the adventures of Mico (a robot). I
made them do an exam afterwards on the subject. They had to listen to a recording for
one part and answer questions for another. We also played a game that I created on the
story (a type of Pictionary), while they were playing they were practicing the Simple
Present since the upcoming week they have to write a text using the Simple Present.
3. For my fifth grade students, they had presentations to finish from the week before about
a city or a land that they invented. Afterwards, they started writing a letter as if they
moved to one of their classmates land and was explaining how is life in that new place.
For some students the upcoming week they will finish their text and after we will start a
lesson on animal body parts.
4. For my six graders, they had to finish presentations of a restaurant they had invented.
Then, they had an exam about A boy who was having a party and his pizzas caught on
fire. Finally, they started writing an ending to that same story. Next week they will finish
writing their text and we will start a new theme.

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
I thought it was not great in the beginning, but with practice I think I am getting better. I have
the eye contact really good. (when they are misbehaving) I need to work on my tone of voice.
I struggle sometimes with a girl named Zoe, she is really nice. Although her level of anxiety is
really high and she gets really upset and rude when she does not understand and when she is
under stress. Also in 404 I have a boy who I need to keep an eye on, because he is always
causing trouble. I will try to work on giving him a more active role that way he might be more
attentive and cause less trouble.
RSUM OF FEEDBACK PROVIDED BY COOPERATING TEACHER
1. She said that I need to work on giving clear directions, because I have the tendency of
explaining too much things at the same time and students get lost. She told me to explain
one exercise let them the time to work on it, after explain the second, and so on and so
on. I am struggling with it, because in life that is how I am. When I start a conversation I
go from one place to the other without any real order. I know that this will be something
to work on.
2. She told me I had good classroom management, because I am not too smiley with the
kids. I am able to give them a look which means stop fooling around. Although, one
thing she said to work on is my tone of voice. I should raise my voice a little for them to
pay attention. And when I close the lights for them to stop talking she told me to leave it
closed until I am done with my explanation, because once I opened back the lights they
were not paying attention to what I had to say since they were working in teams.
3. She said that I take the time with the students with a lot of difficulties. She also said that
I know when to observe when they dont understand and explain it again to make sure
they do understand.
4. She also says I help them out too much and that is true. Without noticing I am giving
answers away. I need to let them find it by themselves more often. Although, by the end
of the week I was slowly getting better at it.
OTHER

We had a fire practice on Thursday during lunch time, and I honestly thought it took too
much time for the students to get out of the school. They last students were out about
fifteen minutes after the rest of the students.
I also went to a staff meeting and the subject of the day was active shooters in a school. I
found it strange that the kids were not practicing these types of drill already, because
with all the school shooting throughout America I think it should be taught at school. i
found that meeting quite interesting.
