My name is Kenia Carias Zelaya and Im currently a senior at
Harding University High School. I conducted research on
Prescription Drug Abuse because I know this is an interesting topic
to talk to the people about, mostly teenagers.
I chose this topic because many people are using drugs, and I feel
sorry for them. I want to find a solution to help because they really
need it. Prescription drug abuse are affecting millions of teenagers.
It is too easy for people to get them because when they have
problems that is when they want to find a solution. Therefore they
get drugs cause they think it is the unique way to feel good, and
forget about everything. However they dont know that taking drugs
is a serious problem, They are going to feel good, but only for the
moment they take them. Then they are going to feel the pain again.
This is how they get addicted to taking drugs.
I learned that drugs can appear, initially to have positive effects,
lifting your mood, relaxing you, or even giving you more energy.
However, they can also have negative impacts on your mental and
physical health, your relationships and your life in general. Also
drugs are chemicals. Different drugs. because of their chemical
structures, can affect the body in different ways. In fact, some
drugs can even change a persons body and brain in ways that last
long after the person has stopped taking drugs, maybe even
permanently.
Overall, the Senior Grad Project was a great experience because I
learned the problems that Prescription Drug Abuse causes to
people who take them and the physical, mental, and social changes
that result..
