Methodology

Experiment 1 (part 1: capacitive coupling)

1.

All of the equipment and part was prepared as in listed provided.

2.

The connection was set up as in the Figure L1.3. From the connection we were provide the
termination on both side of the channel and externally triggered the scope by using a 10peak-to-peak and 2,5 MHz triangular generator waveform.

3.

Along with the waveform of the source voltage ,Vs(t) , the wavefrom of

the capacitive

couple voltage, Vc(t) was sketched.

Experiment 1 (part 2: Inductive Coupling)

1.

The inductive coupling alone was observed by shorting the end of the couple line because
the current was allowed to flow then the inductive (magnetic) coupling was seen.

2.

The observation of the capacitive coupled voltage across Rc was recorded on the result to
see the respond or the changes of the capacitive-coupled current.

3.

Along with the signal voltage, the magnetic coupled voltage was sketched.

Experiment 1 (part 3: Capacitive and inductive coupling when loading is varied)

1.

The effect of the different resistor loading at the end of the line was observed by changed the
coupled line resistance (channel 2 of the scope) to 1M and leave the source resistance
(channel 1 at 50.

2.

The changes of capacitive signal and the shape of the waveform was observed and recorded.

3.

The capacitive and inductive coupling was measured by set up the connection as in the
Figure L1.3.

4.

The inductive coupling was observed by shorted the end of the coupled line then the result
was sketched.

5.

For the last part, the coupled line resistance (channel 2 of the scope) and the source
resistance (channel) was changed to 50 and 1M.

6.

The capacitive and inductive coupled voltage was sketched and the explanation was in the
result and discussion.

7.

By having the digital signal on the signal line and consisting of a train of rectangular pulse,
the digital pulse and the two coupled signal was sketch
