A Caring School Creating the Future
Letter of Reference for Lindsay Gustafson
April 2008
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of reference for Miss. Lindsay Gustafson. Lindsay has
been an exceptional student teacher in my grade two classroom during her Elementary Advanced
Professional Term, EDFX 425, during the winter 2008 term.
Lindsay displays a wide repertoire of teaching skills. Her exemplary organizational skills allowed
her to always be well prepared and planned for her lessons. She understands how to diversify
her methods of instruction according to the needs of the students. Lindsay showed
outstanding growth in learning how to reflect on her lessons not just at the completion of the lesson
but while teaching the lesson. She is enthusiastic about learning, both for the students in her class
and as a professional. Lindsay is both efficient and effective in her management of the classroom.
Lindsay is well liked and respected by all those she encounters. She is flexible and she embraces the
concept of working together in a school as a team. She is open to accepting responsibility in a
collaborative leadership model and she is willing to be coached.
Assessment and analysis of student work is another of Lindsay’s strengths. During her nine week
practicum at Brookside school, she kept extensive, complete, and ongoing records of each student's
work so that she was able to continue and modify her lessons to meet the needs of each student.
Lindsay is an exemplary teacher whose attitude, skills, and practice make her a perfect fit for teaching
elementary children. Her ability her engage with each student allowed her to take a personal interest
in and responsibility for each child’s learning.
Lindsay is a teacher who models integrity not only through his interactions with students, but also
with parents and teaching staff as well. The students’ active participation and enthusiasm are a
true reflection of the respect and admiration they had for Lindsay as a classroom teacher. Lindsay is
a well-rounded person who would enrich any staffroom and any school.
I highly recommend Lindsay Gustafson for employment. Her excellent skills, friendly personality, and
outstanding character make her an ideal candidate. Any district and school would be incredibly
fortunate to have her on staff.
Thank you for your consideration on her behalf.
Sincerely,
peng
