GMOs in industrial and developing countries

Can GMOs solve world hunger? According to www.foodrevolution.org, nearly a million

children die every year because they are weakened by Vitamin A defiencies, and 350,000 will go
blind. Scientists have developed Golden Rice, which helps children in developing countries.
Poverty is the root problem of hunger, so why are developing countries against GMOs, if it
helps everybody?

Organic vs. GMO food sale

In 2004, the sales of GMOs in the United States were about $12 billion, the lowest it has gone.
Since then, the sales of GMOs have increased rapidly, almost of $50 billion. Why are GMOs
foods increasing and organic foods decreasing? 1st off, GMOs are cheaper, according to
www.prezi.com, organic foods cost 10%-30% more than GMOs foods. Another reason why
GMOs have been bought more according to www.popsci.com is because they make foods so
that people with allergies can now eat them.

The Worlds Biggest GMO Producers

This year, the United States was number 1 in GMO production. Is this a good or bad thing? Tom
Phipott from www.motherjones.com reported that this month nearly of all U.S. farms now
have super weeds that can resist Herbicide Roundup. Also, the Department of AgricultureFunded found that genetically modified doesnt mean higher crops yields, 1 of GMOs
bestselling points.
