Forms base pairs with DNA targeted sequences

Why its in the news


Easy to use
Affordable
Can be used with seemingly any type of cell

Previous uses
Correct genetic disease in mice germ cells
Modified the genome of silkworm and frog embryos
Reportedly human embryos
(with limited success)

Why its not being used now


Many scientist dont agree with its use
Consent
Still a large risk
