I am very familiar with all the basic duties of a Practical nurse. I had my long term clinical
in Edmonton General wherein I perform the activities such as; general hygiene and morning
care, peri care, peri care with foley catheter, emptying and measuring a drainage bag, dressing
and bathing, simple wound care, G tube feedings, giving suppositories, and transferring client
following their B-lite. I have also performed head to toe assessments and taking vital signs for
both long term and acute care. I had my medicine-surgery clinical in Royal Alexandra Hospital
wherein I perform ostomy bag change and emptying an ostomy bag, inserting a foley catheter
and discontinuing foley catheter. I also performed complex wound care, medication
administration through oral, subcutaneous, intramascular and intermittent IV route and hanging
and monitoring an IV bag. I am also knowledgeable of tracheostomy tube care, NG tube and G
tube care, chest tube care . I possess a WHIMS Certificate, National Hand Hygiene Certificate,
CPR certificate, Blood Borne Pathogen certificate and an Its Your Move Certificate.
