Glencoe October 14, 2015 To Whom It May Concern At Undergraduate Admissions: Over the past three years | have had the extreme pleasure of working with Tylin Burton as a student in the French |, Il, and Ill classes | teach at Glencoe High School. | look forward to watching Tylin continue to excel in her senior year and | am excited to see where her future takes her. Tylin, from the first day of French |, proved to be an enthusiastic student. Tylin’s love and passion for French language and culture (and learning in generall) has made her experience much more worthwhile- she is constantly seeking out books to read, movies to watch, and finding new music to listen to. She hosted a French exchange student and traveled Europe this past summer broadening her cultural horizons and practicing her language abilities. Tylin is a hardworking and motivated student. She actively participates in class discussions and never hesitates to share important ideas, knowledgeable answers, and experiences with her classmates. She is constantly asking for clarification on minute grammar and pronunciation points, which shows her dedication to the language and her success. Tylin is a reflective student who is always searching for ways to successfully improve her language abilities in all modalities, making it a point to speak French daily. ‘Tylin’s passion for success is shown through her academics and extra-curricular activities as well. On top of being In an advanced third year French class, Tylin has taken numerous A.P. as well as honors classes throughout her time at Glencoe and kept a very impressive 3.76 GPA. She is very active outside of school as well, being a part of Glencoe’s swim team, Student Body Vice President, founding the Feminist club, mentoring, volunteering for Builders without Bérders, and being a Church Camp counselor. The lists of Tylin’s accomplishments is so very Impressive. She balances the stresses of high level classes, demanding activities and community work extremely well. Tylin is definitely an ambitious, well-rounded learner as well as a born leader. It has been my utmost pleasure to have Tylin as a student. She is creative, energetic and always willing to help. | ‘am so lucky to have had the opportunity to watch Tylin grow in her language skills, and | am elated she has plans to continue with French and potentially study abroad. She has grown into a wonderful young woman aver the, past three years and | am SO excited to see where her future takes her.
