No speak english, is my favorite vignette because of the tone and

the style it is written. I love all the similes and they really flow together, the
comparisons are very humorous and I wish to incorporate this in my vignette.
There is a woman who comes to the house on Mango street who can only
speak about 8 english words, and Esperanza thinks she is a little crazy.
Sandra Cisneros creates an amusing story through the use of simile and
voice. An example of simle was; The taxi door opened like a waiters arm
which is a method often used by the author. Those pieces of style add to
the overall tone and meaning because all of her similes are meant to be
amusing, and humorous. The voice is supposed to represent the voice of a
child, in which the child is the narrator. This next piece of evidence reflects
the voice of a child, and shows the narration she was portraying. Rachel
says her name ought to Mamasota, but I think thats mean. The piece adds
to the style and overall tone because the author was trying to portray a child
narrator, and did a great job with the exciting tone child-like quality that it
gave, as well as, the fast pace it contained just like a child telling a story. To
conclude, the piece really reached out to me about my past and I knew I

could create a fluent piece like the author. She implied a child narrator and
the piece reflected the tone she was trying to show. The style was very easy
to pick up, and I knew I could write in this style as well.
