Proper Spacing of Hangers in Standard MonoRail Location and spacing of suspension points for support- ing MonoRail track and switches should be given every possible consideration in order to attain the greatest degree of safety together with a perfectly horizontal runway eliminating irregular grade effects caused by slight deflections in the rail. Adherence to spacing given in the table below as well as the suggest- ed location of hangers indicated in the diagram at the top of this page will assure permanent support for the loads to be carried. Spacings have been accurately de- termined so that in no case will deflection in the rail tT 2 between hangers exceed 1/250th of the span nor will the load on any one bolt exceed 2500 pounds. Note that the data given includes spacings for systems where one, two, three, four or more trolleys may be used. Where conditions make possible the concentra- tion of two or more trolleys such loading must be con- sidered and the proper hanger spacing provided. In planning a system it will be advantageous to pro- vide for any possible future increase in load conditions and provide support for such loads at the time of original installation.
