A clock is a mechanical device that

shows time and there are many
different types of clocks

Galileo Galilei had the idea of making a
clock.
But it was very ancient unlike todays
clock.

HOW DOES IT FUNCTION
THE SIMPLE MACHINE IN A CLOCK ARE
THE WHEEL AND AXLE- The Wheel and Axle helps
the hands in the clock move round.
INCLINE PLANE-When the clock hands are slanting
that is when it forms a Incline Plane wedge.
WEDGE-In the Wheel and Axle there is a Wedge
which you will see in the diagram of the clock
later on.

In the olden times you might have thought
how did people see the time without a
clock or a watch, the use the predict the
time by the position of the sun.
