I believe that the choice to ease the embargo is not a good idea. I say this
because not only is Cuba a major dictatorship in the world. A clear indication of this
would be the way they rule over their improvised country. I feel like to have an
affiliation with a country such as this would be a burden on our own country. To take
a word out of Marco Rubios book just because there will be an influx in money and
goods for the countries involved does not mean that there will be a change in
political freedom for the Cuban people. I feel that it may come across as helping
the Cuban people, but in my opinion it really only helps the Cuban government, who
put strenuous restrictions against the people who live there. Marco Rubio is not the
only politician with this viewpoint. Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush both feel this is a very bad
idea! They feel that these actions are taking steps backwards to freeing the Cuban
people of their doctoral government.
