High performance polymer blends and its nano-composite

High-performance polymers are the class of polymers known for their outstanding thermal
and mechanical performance, better weather and chemical resistance, and many other
properties. High Performance polymers have a thermal resistance >150C. Examples of hard
wearing high performance polymers are: PEEK Polyetheretherketon, PI Polyimide. The
major problem with this class of polymers is its poor processability.

The current research work will focus on improving the thermal and mechanical properties as
well as processability of high performance plastics. Improvements on processibility to
facilitate specific applications and fabrication methodologies in various applications like
aerospace, automotive, and semiconductor industries of high performance plastics.

The ongoing development of advanced, high performance polymers has dramatically

increased their use in aerospace and automotive industries. Originally plastics were specified
because they offered good mechanical properties combined with excellent appearance,
including the possibility of self-colouring. The application of high performance plastic
components has been increasing over the last decades. The increased demand of lighter
components while maintaining a high level of safety requires an integrated mechanical
metallurgical analysis.

The current work will focus on:

Development of high performance plastic

Study of Mechanical, Thermal and Morphological properties.
Integrated mechanical metallurgical analysis.
