Abstract

I chose the topic of discussion to be whether or not school security systems should be upgraded.
The review of recent literature suggests that school safety and security spending should increase.
A student, staff and community group were chosen. Roughly 100 students and 20 members of
the community entered a survey containing questions focused on personal comfortability
regarding various safety protocols in the high school environment as well as willingness for
increased tax portions for funding (Community). 5 staff members were interviewed similar
questions as well as comparison to their high school safety programs to those of modern day. 100
random Darby students took a survey distributed on Twitter. 20 city taxpayers were emailed a
copy of their survey.
