Dear George,

I wanted to write back to you for a long time but i was busy with school. I am writing
this letter to you as an answer to your questions about what being a fireman means and
what this school is about.
Being a fireman entails a wide range of rescue operations , especially firefighting .
As a fireman you have many responsabilities such as : to extinguish fires, to rescue
people , animals and property from fires and unexpected events, intervene when leaks of
hazardous substances.Work is carried out in different buildings ; where fire situations and
other situations of concern that involv leaking gas , floods take place. The working
environment is difficult and danger surrounds you every step of the way . You will be
working in shifts.
School is hard but pleasant. It prepares you for the future job. You are on a tight
schedule, you wake up every morning at 6 am. You have classes and training but as I said
before school prepares you for the future situations you might be facing. If you want to
get in you have to get through some test : a physical and a math test.
