By means of a computer tomography the anatomic variations of uncinate process were investigated
in 60 patients with chronic inflammatory diseases of
the paranasal sinuses which were observed at the Donetsk rhinologic centre. It was revealed the different
variations of intranasal structures and anterior group
of paranasal sinuses. The pathological variations of
the uncinate process at computer tomography were
found out at 20 (33,3%) patients, in most cases they
were bilateral and are presented by different types of
hyperplasia, deviation, displacement and anatomic
changes of its top part in different combinations. The
CT has added essentially the rhinoendoscopic data in
this group of patients and has shown that the form and
location of uncinate process are considerably changed
at them.
Key words: uncinate process, computer tomography
