Reflection on the Lesson Plan

The original lesson plan was designed for the beginning level grammar class, the class
size of up to 15. The first draft was unsuccessful since it included a lot of problems like choosing
inappropriate context for the level, and confusion in presenting explanation. The only thing that I
could say it went well is the originality of the lesson plan. I created all the example sentences and
exercises, but actually this fact contributed to make confusion on formal explanation and
insufficiency of details.
Among the changes that I made for the revised lesson plan, the first thing that I did was
finding a better context for the beginning level. I liked the context that I found because it was
short and interesting, but I realized that one could be little bit difficult for the beginning level
students, so I took the advice from my teacher and added a new context from the beginner
grammar textbook. The next modification that I had was adding details of what teacher does as
my lecturer pointed out on my first draft. Thereafter, I extract the correct and well organized
grammar rule for my target lesson, and also the exercises for meaningful drill. Finally, I created a
communicative drill that is totally different from the original one to provide some information
gap in the exercise as the instructor noted.
The revision according to the instructors comment made my lesson plan more accurate
which would help my students to understand my lesson content better by eliminating confusion
or messy organization. These changes also will help myself to follow the lesson plan easily thus
deliver the lesson more effectively.
