Dear Mayor Applegarth,

I am a current resident of the great city of Riverton. Riverton is such an
awesome place to live and I have loved living in it for the last 18 years. Riverton
has a great sense of community and has improved over the years. In the last
year however, something has been bothering me around these streets. And its
the streets.
I started noticing the problem on the first day of school last year. Right as the
ending bell rang, I rushed to my car and sped out of the parking lot to beat the
traffic only to find that that day was the first of many where construction was
being performed on 2700 W and 12600 S. Now, I dont want to turn this into a
complaint letter, but cmon. The entire summer that intersection was completely
free of construction, and the day that school starts, so does construction. That
intersection is a primary route to Riverton High, Oquirrh Hills Middle, and
Southland Elementary schools.
Another construction issue is the road 11800 South or Meyers Lane. This road
goes through Herriman and is a border for South Jordan and Riverton. There is
tar patches everywhere and driving on it is a rollercoaster with all the bumps.
Many times that I have driven on that road, I or cars around me would drive in
the shoulder or the turning lane to avoid these protrusions. It is clear to see that

this road is a major problem for drivers if it is forcing them to drive in and out of
his/her lane. Maybe it is because of a boundary issue with South Jordan and
Herriman that no one is taking the initiative for this project, but the people need
this road to be fixed up. Please consider taking action to make this road less
hazardous to drive on.
Overall, although road construction is an annoyance, if it is put at a convenient
time with little traffic, it is a necessity. Thank you for your time and
consideration.

Sincerely,
Kiera Petersen
