Turn Based Combat

The player engages in battle with enemies through menu driven, turn based
combat.
A units turn frequency in battle is dependent on how much time they require before
they can act. A turn gauge represents this by filling up. When the gauge is full, they
gain access to a list of their abilities to use on the opponent or themselves.
In battle The Villager can augment their own strength, cast powerful magic,
summon spirits, or unleash massive power using the demon heart.
Linear Area Progression and Exploration
The game is split into four areas, completed respectively: Destroyed Village, Stone
City Courtyard, Ziggurat Catacombs, and Ziggurat Terrace.
Items, equipment, spells/skills, Non-Player Characters (NPCs), and battles are
located in each area rewarding the player for exploration and progression.
Save points are located at the start of each area and before bosses.
Field Map and Battle Map
The game is split between two types of maps.
The field map is where the player can freely navigate through the areas.
The battle map is where battles take place at designated locations on the field
map. Here the player loses free movement in place of the turn based combat.
On the field map the view of the world the player gets is through an isometric
camera.
In battle maps the camera shifts to a closer position showing less of the world and
focusing on the units in the battle.
