Some facts about Botany- 1- The tallest trees in the world are redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens), which tower
above the ground in California. These trees can easily reach heights of 300 feet (91 meters).
2- A bristlecone pine is the oldest tree in the world.
3- Name of carnivorous plants- Darlingtonia californica , Brocchinia reducta, Dionaea muscipula, Nepenthes
bicalcarata, Venus flytrap.
Phloem -Transportation of food and nutrients such as sugar and amino acids from leaves to storage organs and
growing parts of plant. This movement of substances is called translocation.
Xylem- Water and mineral transport from roots to aerial parts of the plant.
