ƒ Introduce POWER5 Virtualization which is part of PowerVM


– Overview of the VIO server
– Overview of shared processor LPARs

ƒ Provide a hands on experience


– Installing and Configuring a VIO (Virtual I/O Server) or IVM
• Create Virtual SCSI server devices
• Create Shared Ethernet Adapters
– Defining AIX clients to use the virtual resources
– Installing clients over a virtual network to virtual disks
