Re: Alexandra Briggs
To Whom It May Coneem:
Alexandra Briggs was a confident and capable student teacher. She served an
intemship with Mrs. Geitzen in sixth grade at Washington Woads Middle Schoo!
between September 2018 and December 2015. During this time, Ms. Briggs
developed a working knowledge of our social studies curriculum, the inquiry-
based Connected Mathematics 3 curriculum, and both of our PBIS and MTSS.
systems at Holt Public Schools. Alexandra established a personal goal of
improving her students’ engagement in lessons through the use of more wait
time, calling on a variety of students and using partner work. She requested me
to observe for this specifically, which | was delighted to do and saw first-hand her
skills and potential as a permanent classroom teacher.
As a former classroom teacher, Transformational/instructional Coach, and
Principal for this district, | fee! qualified to recommend Alexandra for an
elementary teaching position. Throughout her internship, | was able to witness
the professionalism and care Ms. Briggs contributed to both the classroom and
the staff. Alexandra eamed the confidence and affection of her students through
firm, but gentle guidance and became a constant presence at school and staff
events which spoke volumes of her commitment to this internship.
‘Should you have any questions regarding Alexandra Briggs, please do not
