The lecture completely opposes to the reading passage about the viewpoint of the

new smart cars. These cars will be very technologic and driven by a computer to a
destination. The reading passage mentions the advantages that can be expected
from these cars like preventing car accidents, reduce traffic problems and costs of
driving.
The lecture refuses the idea of the benefits of introducing the smart cars. It is said
that even with the new technology, there still going to be car accidents. Technology
has errors and these cars may have something that goes wrong and can create
terrible accidents.
Also, the lecture declines the idea of traffic reduction by increasing the speed. More
cars will be used with this technology and they will be so close one to another in
order to benefit from their speed. These will involve more cars stick together in the
road and cause more traffic.
Besides, the lecture explains that it is not true that smart cars will make the people
save money. The cost of the technology is high like sensors that let the car drive in
its own. Even if they are design to drive in a more efficient way, they need to be
checked frequently. The repairs of these smarts cars will be more expensive that
traditional ones. So the advantages mentions in the reading passage are refused in
the lecture.
