Facts about unequal arrests for drugs

Nationally, from 1980 to 2007, blacks were arrested 2.8 to 5.5 times higher than
whites
State-by-State data in 2007 shows that blacks were arrested between 2 and 11.3
times more than whites.
Studies show that blacks and whites commit drug offenses equally, but blacks are
typically targeted in the war on drugs

How can we fix this?

We can fix this by not sending blacks and hispanics straight to jail because
they are doing drugs.
We can also fix this by only checking up on people who are very suspicious in
the streets.
Another way we can fix it is by giving blacks and hispanics more jobs to make
money for themselves instead of being in the streets.
