The spartan armies consisted of 300

spartan legionnaires.
The weapons that the Spartans brought
with them in the wars were spears called dorys,
which were 7-9 feet long and were used for
jabbing, another weapon is the xiphos, which was
a small sword and had a 2 foot long blade that
was used for slashing, they also used a kopis
which was a curved sword for hacking at the
enemies, and finally used a shield not just for
protection but, for a weapon when in close
combat.
The Spartans wore a bronze helmet that
protected their cheeks and anywhere else on their
head with only two holes in it for eyes,
Their armor was made out of bronze and
very thick leather.
