Green House Gases : Carbon Dioxide ( CO2 )

Methane ( CH4 )
Nitrous Oxide ( N2O )
Chloro Fluorocarbon ( CFC )

Sources of Carbon Dioxide : Natural Sources :

Volcanic outgassing
Combustion of organic matter
Wildfire
Respiration process of living aerobic organism

Human Causes carbon dioxide

emission:
Power plant: Share of global GHG emission
20-30 %
Burning of coal, natural gas,
fissile fuels to generate electricity
in power plant produce CO2.
Residential Buildings:
Share of global GHG emission
11%

Transportation:
Share of global GHG
emission 25-30%.
Burning of fossil fuels
in engine produce
CO2.
Emission of CO2 by
transportation
increases dayboy day.
50% emission of CO2
increased over past

Deforestation:
Global share of GHG
is
12-15%
Forests are natural
sinkers of
CO2.
Deforestation, change
in land usesage
damages the natural
sinkers cycle and

Cement, Ceramic and

glass industry:
Global share of 6 %.
Iron and Steel industry
share 4 % of global GHG
emission.
Oil and gas production
share 3 %

crease in CO2 level in atmosphere is one the major ca

climate change.
ffect of climate change :
Heavy rainfall

Extreme
Drought

Hurricane

Rise in global
temperature

Change in
ecosystem

Ways to reduce carbon dioxide emission:

Use energy efficient equipment.
Use hybrid vehicle
Use public transport as much as possible
Switch off the light and fan when not in use
Grow more trees and stop deforestation
Use alternative fuels to reduce CO2 emission
like hydrogen,
bio fuel etc.
Recycle , reuse and avoid useless purchase
