Ofcom researchOfcom has previously received queries about whether music videos can

contain images of suicide, such as a gun to the head or someone hanging

themselves. Ofcom does not prohibit such themes and images from being
broadcast in programming before the watershed. In order to comply with
the Code however in the context of a brief music video they would have to
be very carefully limited and presented. Rule 1.13 states: Dangerous
behaviour, or the portrayal of dangerous behaviour, that is likely to be
easily imitable by children in a manner that is harmful must not be
broadcast before the watershedunless there is editorial justification.
Therefore great care should be taken to limit images of dangerous
behaviour so that information or details are not presented which could
lead to imitation by children.
From this I will make sure that my video will not contain any violence and
when the teenagers will take the drugs there will be no showing of them
actually doing it so it will not be imitable. I will do this by using things that
look similar to what I am trying to show and there will only be quick shots
of them doing so. When the video is implying that the teenagers are
intoxicated I will include no dangerous behaviour as it isnt relevant and
there is other ways of showing that they are high. In the end of there will
not be any suicide, but there will be depression shown which doesnt end
up in suicide, it is just there to add effect and meaning to the video.
