What is Schizophrenia?

Schizophrenia is a severe mental disorder, characterized by profound

disruptions in thinking, affecting language, perception, and the sense of self. It
often includes psychotic experiences, such as hearing voices or delusions.
Schizophrenia affects more than 21 million people worldwide.
It is a treatable disorder.
One in two people living with schizophrenia does not receive care for the
condition.

Solution & Structure

Our solution is similar to an insulin pump because our product pumps drugs
straight into the body, but risperidone instead of insulin.
Our container holds 28 ml of concentrated risperidone. The solubility of
risperidone into ph7.2 water is 1 mg/2 ml so the container holds 7 days worth
of medicine.
Our pump would run on a timer which would periodically release 2 mg of
risperidone into the body
Our pump would have a long tube which connects to a plastic needle that
needs to be inserted into the body and changed once every week. The needle
needs to be changed to a different spot every week to avoid infection. The
needle must be placed at least one inch away from the last place
