Cooperative Work Experience

(Semester 1)
1: Vermont Network Against Domestic and Sexual Violence
2: The Vermont Network Against Domestic and Sexual Violence is a statewide resource that
provides technical assistance and training to member programs and partners. They also inform
public policy, and coordinate statewide conferences, as well as projects.
3: My mentor was the legal projects coordinator.
4: The duties and responsibilities of a legal projects coordinator range greatly. You need to plan
projects, and estimate the resources needed to achieve the project goal.
5: There are many characteristics that would be important in order to hold a career at Vermont
Network Against Domestic and Sexual Violence. Some of these characteristics would be
compassion, the willingness to learn, and honesty.
6: I am interested in being a victim advocate which is along this career path but not exactly this.
Working at the Vermont Network Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, it was more of the
behind the scenes work regarding laws, etc. I am interested in following those laws, not making
them.
7: I enjoyed going to meetings regarding Vermont law about domestic and sexual violence. I also
enjoyed being able to see the behind the scenes work. I enjoyed learning in depth about each law
that is in place to protect survivors.
