Different track control link versions for wheel bearing housing with and without bushings
Wheel bearing housings with bushings are being introduced as of Model Year 2002 to provide optimum
sealing of lower link bushes (track control link and guide link).
This also involves modifications to track control link and fastening elements for track control and guide links.
Assignment => Parts List
‒ Old track control link
‒ New track control link
When installing wheel bearing housings with no bushings, old type of track control link and flange nuts
for track control and guide links are to be fitted.
When installing wheel bearing housings with bushings, new type of track control link and combi nuts for
track control and guide links are to be fitted.
If only track control link is renewed, replace old type track control link with old type and new type with
new type.
The following fastening elements are to be used for track control and guide links:
‒ Old type of track control link => Flange nut
‒ New type of track control link => Combi nut
Removing
‒ → Detach wheel trim. In the case of
light alloy wheels, use puller from
vehicle tool kit or suction grip -3208-
to remove trim cap.
‒ Remove wheel.
Notes:
Insert leather cloth to prevent boot
damage.
If applicable, pay attention to
