Host, JENNA, sits behind desk at UPSTAGE RIGHT facing
away from the audience. She pauses for 5 seconds and
then spins around in her chair and looks up with an
intense look on her face.
JENNA
Hello, and welcome to The Night
Show. Tonight we are going to be
covering the most problematic issue
we have had since the infamous
gold-and-white dress: the
deportation of Mexicans due to the
beautiful new Trump Wall at the
U.S. Mexico Border. Thanks to
Trump, all of these decent white
people have had to lose a part of
their everyday lives. To see how
this is affecting our hard working
Americans, we turn to Sarah Scott,
one of our field members.
CAMERA MAN turns camera to STAGE LEFT where field
member, SARAH SCOTT, is interviewing the MILLS family.
Int. office in MILLS home - end of workday
ELEANOR sits in office chair facing JACK, who is
sitting behind the desk. ELEANOR is wearing all black
with pearls and her hair in a chignon. Jack is writing
a check. Jack is wearing a black suit, white shirt, and
a grey tie. His hair is neat and flat.
SARAH is holding microphone and speaking in a monotone
voice.
SARAH

Yes. Hello Jenna. I am Sarah Scott.

Today, we have the Mills family
here with us. They have been
explaining to me how the new wall
is affecting them.
SARAH points microphone at ELEANOR.
SARAH
This is Eleanor. Eleanor, can you
tell us what the wall is doing to
your family?
SARAH holds microphone in ELEANORs face.
ELEANOR takes the microphone and stands up out of chair
and walks towards CAMERA MAN dramatically. CAMERA MAN
takes a 3 steps back to get away from ELEANOR.
ELEANOR
Because of President Trumps wall
of Trump, we will have to lose our
dear, dear Maria. Maria is our
housemaid. She has been with us for
6 years, but today, we must release
her to the state.
JACK and MARIA are talking in the back. MARIA is
standing next to JACK who is sitting down at his desk.
ELEANOR turns and whispers angrily to her husband.
ELEANOR
Hurry up, Jack. We need to pay
Maria. I want her out soon. I want
her here to clean, not socialize,
and if she is here for a minute
longer, she will have found her
cousin in our kitchen staff. Also,
remember to add an extra 10
dollars, it is her last check and

we dont want to come off as

inconsiderate, now do we?
JACK
(groans and rolls his eyes and whispers)
Now Eleanor, you must relax. She
still needs to work on the
bathroom. There will be no
socializing for her. You need to go
and have her teach you how to
clean. Since she is being deported,
you must take over for her. I only
trust the cleanliness of our home
to her, but since the wall is going
up, I guess I will have to settle
for you.
SARAH awkwardly brushes her clothes down and clears her
throat.
SARAH
So, with that, I hand it back to
you Jenna. Im Sarah Scott, with
The Night Show.
CAMERA MAN moves camera back to UPSTAGE RIGHT where
JENNA is sitting and leaning forward on desk. JENNA
sits back in chair.
JENNA
Now we will give you to Wilfred
Michaelson, another one of our
field members. Who do you have
there with you, Wilfred?
CAMERA MAN moves camera to STAGE LEFT where WILFRED is
standing with TODD and HANNAH WILLIS, who are standing
to his left.

Hello. I am Wilfred Michaelson with

The Night Show. Today I am here
with Hannah and Todd Willis. They
recently lost their favorite lunch
spot due to the Trump Wall.
WILFRED points microphone to citizen, TODD WILLIS.
TODD
(in a South Carolina accent)
Yeah. Uh. Hey yall. My name is
Todd Robert Willis and I want to
say hi to my hero, President Donald
Trump, and to my mama in South
Carolina. Hey mama. We lost our go
to lunch joint down here in
Escondido. It was this little
Mexican joint called Lolitas.
Because we are deportin all them
Mexicans, the rest-ar-aunt had to
close down. Now how am I goin to
get my California burrit-uh? I
aint gon go to Mexico, and I sure
know my old woman over there dont
know how to make em.
WILFRED
(Eyes super wide and adjusts tie)
Well thank you, Todd, for sharing
your intense dilemma with us. I can
totally relate. I love myself some
Mexican food. Especially them, I
mean those, California burritos.

CAMERA MAN turns camera back to UPSTAGE RIGHT where
JENNA is sitting at the desk.
JENNA

Thanks, Wilfred. That was very

informative. Well we haCAMERA MAN runs over to DOWNSTAGE LEFT, where DONALD
TRUMP is standing behind a podium with a speaker that
is playing the national anthem.
DONALD TRUMP
Wow. Thanks, wow. Whoa. That is
some group of people. Thousands. So
nice, thank you very much. Thats
really nice. Thank you. Its great
to be at Trump House. I am so proud
of America for doing the right
thing and voting me into office.
Like. Wow. I am so proud of us all.
We have deported all the rapists
and killers. We are on our way to
being great again.
DONALD TRUMP pulls a confetti pop out of his suit
pocket and uses it. Confetti explodes out of the
confetti pop.
CAMERA MAN moves camera back to UPSTAGE RIGHT where
JENNA is checking her phone and is smiling.
JENNA
Oh. Yes. Now with that, we have one
more story for you all. Or as Todd
would have said, yall. We will be
heading to a small school in
California, High Tech High Chula
Vista. We have Charlie Patterson on
the scene.
The CAMERA MAN moves to DOWNSTAGE LEFT where CHARLIE is
standing. Behind him, two white police officers are
escorting a 16-year-old Mexican girl from CENTER STAGE
to STAGE LEFT and off the stage.

CHARLIE
Hello. Thanks, Jenna. Here we have
a girl being arrested for selling
candy, particularly Mexican candy
and chips, at school. As you all
know, this is a very illegal act
and this girl will be deported
because of her ethnicity.
JENNA
Are there any witnesses?
CHARLIE
Yes. There are two students here
with me. Here is Alonso Rodriguez.
He is a senior here at High Tech
and has bought candy from ALien-779
before. We arent allowed to
disclose her name at the moment, so
we call her Alien-779. Alonso, how
are you feeling at the moment?
ALONSO
Hi. Yes. I have bought from (CAMERA
MAN says BEEP really loudly) oh,
sorry, Alien-779, before, but
didnt realize it was illegal. I
highly regret all my actions and am
cooperating in hopes of being able
to remain a United States citizen.
CHARLIE laughs very loud and sarcastically for a long
time.
CHARLIE
Well uh, Alonso, we all know that
wont happen with Trump as
President, but good luck to you.
ALONSO
Gracias - I mean thank you!

CHARLIE
Now, Valeria. I know you are Alien779s best friend. How are you
feeling right now?
VALERIA
No puedo creer que los pinches
gringos se lleven a mi mejor amiga!
Que uno no sabe que los Americanos
tambin se la pasan vendiendo
cochinada y media en la escuela?! Y
si no fuera por los Mexicanos los
Americanos no supieran lo que es
una salsa o una quesadilla? Pero
van a pagar, nos van a extranar!
CHARLIE
Well, since no one understood that,
we will just cut that out. Back to
you in the newsroom, Jenna.
CAMERA MAN runs back to UPSTAGE RIGHT where JENNA is
sitting at the desk, yawning.
JENNA
We are live, Charlie, but thanks.
So as you can see, this new
development in our relationship
with Mexico is truly affecting our
citizens as well. But remember
guys, we all voted for this and
should be proud of what we are
doing. Remember, racism and
segregation have always made
history.
Pictures of the Berlin wall, the Great Wall of China,
#blacklivesmatter, color vs whites fountains, etc. are
held by all cast members (except JENNA) as they walk

from UPSTAGE RIGHT to UPSTAGE LEFT and off the stage

behind JENNA.
