Teacher is meeting with one student at atime. Intern working with one student who is reading aloud. Student struggles abit and intern assists. Very patient! When student finishes reading, intern asks student to retell what happened inthe story. | 10:32 Student with intern finishes, goes back to seat. Intern calls up another student, telling him, "Today we are going to read Tommie's Treasure." Student begins to read (seems lke tis protocol is very smooth!) Intern encourages the student, saying ‘Good job" when student gets to the end of a page. 10:39 Two other students come to the reading table with intern. Intern passes out books and small sticks, which students Use to keep their place in the book. Students take tus reading. Intern asks questions, and follow up questions to clarify answers. One students says ‘pass’ when asked a question. Intern redirects one student who starts watching classmates across the room. Last question, "So what was your favorite part?” 10:50 Groups switch again. Teacher comes to speak to intern and they discuss how the students did Intern reports that one student did much better than usual, that he could pronounce all the words! Intern calls over the blue group and passes out books. Intern asks, “Before you guys start reading, what do you think is going to happen?" Then, when a student predicts, | “Good job!” Intern asks another question, then tells students they can start reading now. Students read themselves.
