To Whom It May Concern:

I have known Deja Burgin for the past two years, having served as her
Precalculus teacher at Buffalo Academy of Science Charter School and
helped guide her during her Varsity Girls Basketball Season. I believe Deja
would be an excellent candidate for the Buffalo Urban League Scholarship.
While a student at Buffalo Academy of Science High School, she has always
challenged herself academically, working towards her goal of an advanced
regent diploma, which she achieved by passing her Algebra II Trigonometry
exam in half of a year with me.
Her focus is on becoming an Orthopedic Doctor, which is a great choice
because she is willing to see a problem from multiple perspectives She has
superb work ethic and verbal skills that are a pleasure for any teacher to
encounter. When she doesnt know a concept or didnt understand the
instruction within class she doesnt hesitate in asking for clarification or a
different explanation. She leads by her voice and by her actions. Because of
this she has earned the respect and admiration of her peers. She has always
strived to be better than what she is at the moment.
I believe the Buffalo Urban League would be proud to know that their
scholarship helped Deja Burgin on her quest to become an Orthopedic
Doctor. Please give her the chance. If you have any questions regarding
Tatiyana's qualifications, please feel free to contact me at (716) 255-5895 or
