REPORT
Summary
I am going to be writing a short report that is going to advertise the product thats
Made by Cadburys called Dairy Milk.
I am going to make this advertisement very appealing to all target audiences and
that could be used in different places where it will be able to reach a large audience,
this will include like the advert being able to be shown on the internet as this is a
very quick way of getting things known and also promoting products. the history of
the advertisement company for Cadburys dairy milk in the past has been very
successful and resulted in some of the most iconic adverts that are remembered by
a number of people, this is what helps sell items as people know the brand and
remember the products that they have to offer this is what makes a good advert.
After researching about Cadburys dairy milk bar I found out that in 1905 the
chocolate bar was introduced, the first Cadburys advert was seen on TV in 1955.
After doing some research I have found out that the main theme for the Cadburys
adverts are usually based on humour and made to make people laugh!

Research
For the research I looked at all of the different types of adverts that have already
been produced to promote the Cadburys brand in the past. I looked at
some of the more popular adverts that have been shown as well as
what the target audience generally is. One of the things that I did notice
was that all of the adverts have a sense of humour about them. They
are also adverts that appeal to both young and old people and the
adverts tend to just be focusing on one thing that is happening where
as some adverts tell a story dairy milk adverts are normally just one
thing that is happening. Through my advert I wanted some aspects to
be the same as previous Cadburys dairy milk adverts like the colour
scheme whereas for years the colour scheme has been purple just like
the chocolate bar wrapper. There is also something about the adverts where one
things is often animated or looks somewhat cartoonish but with it all still keeping a
realistic look, I believe this is another thing that adds to the humour.

Advert
The type of advert that I am going to be doing to do is
a form of CGI. As this is going to give a less serious
feel to the advert. This is going to be based on what I
think is one of the most iconic and memorable is the
advert with the gorilla playing the drums to Phil
Collins I can feel it in the air tonight. The images to
the right are of this particular advert. As you can see the Advert dose in fact look
quite realistic, but at the same time the advert dose has a level of humour to it even
though the thought the advert the gorilla is very serious and in to it. It just adds
another level of humour because of that. This way the advert is appealing to all ages
as it is not cartoon or animated so therefore It takes away the aspect of it just
appealing to children. As I am trying to target all ages so I want the advert to be

appealing to not just young people but also young adults as well because chocolate
is not something that is just targeted at one age range. By making the advert more
serious with a twist of humour people are going to be more likely to remember the
brand of chocolate that is Cadburys. To produce an
advert like this I will need some knowledge in CGI.
However, seen as there isnt going to be any dialog I
will not need any talent.

Timeline for advert


0.00-0.05 seconds establish the advert.
0.06-0.09 seconds the giraffe comes in.
0.08-0.12 seconds The giraffe picks up the guitar &
starts to strum random strings.
0.13-0.17 seconds the giraffe finds a beat & starts to
play along to it.
0.18-0.23 seconds the giraffe brakes out playing to a
song.
0.24-0.26 seconds dairy milk label comes up on the screen.

This is a Basic short plan. This is because it might need to be changes when it comes
to producing the advert. So by doing a basic plan it allows me to be able to make
changes if they are needed. However, the aim of the production team is to produce
something along these lines as the final advert.

Scenario and theme


The scenario of the advert is very much like the gorilla Cadburys dairy milk advert
buy in this case there will be a giraffe playing the guitar to a classic rock song, this is
what is going to help people remember the advert and also the brand as by using a
song that many people already know with an already well known chocolate bar brand
People are also going to associate the adverts together because they are so similar.
Therefore, I am keeping with the dairy milk theme but just adding a twist on it by
using qa different animal as well as a different well known song, as this was one of
the many reasons why people remembered the previous advert of the gorilla playing
Phil Collins. The theme is going to be different colours of purple and white this is
because they are the colours of the Cadburys dairy milk.

Justification
I think that this advertisement is going to work as Cadburys dairy milk is a very wellknown chocolate bar and seen as the previous advert with the same theme was such
a hit I feel as if this advert is going to be a success in promoting the sales for the
chocolate bar. I think the advert when finished will look good and also fit in with the
humour of the previous adverts by Cadburys. If I had more time, then I would have
been able to plan my advert a lot more as well as conduct more research and be able
to make more of a comparison between not only Cadburys adverts but also what
different chocolate bars adverts are like and what are the similarities as well as the
differences between them.

Conclusion
I think that my advert is going to help the promotion of Cadburys dairy milk as the
advert will stick in peoples minds because of the humour. Just like after all of these
years like how the gorilla advert has stuck in peoples minds. It will also help that
Cadburys is already a very well-known brand that people have already most likely
previously bought or at least know of. I also think that the Scenario of my advert will
help to make it more memorable because of how random it is this is what people are
going to remember the brand and what it is they sell because of the advert.
