Battery Compartment

that is used in tuning for performances is called the "reference pitch."

How to Use the Tuner

1. Connect the instrument to be tuned to the INPUT jack.
If you're tuning an acoustic instrument, use the built-in mic instead. To use the mic,
make sure that nothing is connected to the INPUT or OUTPUT jacks, and place the
TU-88 near the instrument.
* To prevent malfunction and/or damage to speakers or other devices, always turn down the volume,
and turn off the power on all devices before making any connections.
2. Press [ ] (Power button) to switch the power on.
5. If necessary, press [SEL] with [ ] and [ ] to make settings for Flat

tuning and/or the reference pitch.

The meter and Tuning Guide show how far the note is from the correct pitch.
7. Tune the instrument.

With the intended note name/string number appearing in the display, tune the
instrument so that both

Once a battery is installed in the TU-88, the following settings can be stored in
memory, where they'll be preserved even while the power is turned off.

You can temporarily deactivate the Auto Power Off feature when you power up the
TU-88.

"OF" is displayed and the power comes on with the Auto Power Off feature
deactivated.
The Auto Power Off feature will be enabled the next time you turn on the power in
the usual way.

Deactivating the Auto Power Off Feature
To prevent malfunction and/or damage to speakers or other devices,

always turn down the volume, and turn off the power on all devices before
making any connections.
Once the connections have been completed, turn on power to your amp or
other amplification system last. By turning on devices in the wrong order,
you risk causing malfunction and/or damage to speakers and other
devices.
GUITAR:
Allows tuning by guitar string
number.
CHROMATIC mode: You can play any of the twelve notes in the chromatic scale (C4B4).
GUITAR mode:
The pitch of the selected open string (7B to 1E) is played.
BASS mode:
The pitch of the selected open string (LB to HC) is played.
When you're using the Flat feature, the pitch of the tones played is adjusted accordingly.

Vor dem Betrieb des Gertes lesen Sie bitte die folgend aufgefhrten Abschnitte
sorgfltig durch: SICHERER BETRIEB DES GERTES und WICHTIGE HINWEISE (auf
einem gesonderten Blatt beigefgt).
Diese Abschnitte enthalten wichtige Informationen ber die korrekte Bedienung des

Sie konnen die Auto-Power-Off-Funktion vorubergehend deaktivieren, wenn Sie

den TU-88 einschalten. Halten Sie die [ ]- und [ ]-Tasten gedrckt und schalten
Sie das Gert mit der [ ]-Taste ein. "OF" wird angezeigt, und das Gert schaltet sich
mit deaktivierter Auto Power Off-Funktion ein.
Die Auto-Power-Off-Funktion wird aktiviert, wenn Sie das Gert auf normale Weise
einschalten.
Verwenden eines Signals, um das Ende des Stimmvorgangs

anzuzeigen (Accu-Pitch-Funktion)
Wenn die Accu-Pitch-Funktion eingeschaltet ist, erklingt ein Signalton, wenn sich
die Tonhhe des zu stimmenden Instruments im Bereich von drei Cent ber oder
unter der richtigen Tonhhe stabilisiert. Dieses Signal weist Sie darauf hin, dass die
Tonhhe richtig ist.
Ein- und Ausschalten der Accu-Pitch-Funktion

1. Halten Sie die [ TUNER]-Taste gedrckt, und schalten Sie das Gert
mit der [ ]-Taste (Netztaste) ein.

Wenn die Batterie herausgenommen wird oder leer ist, knnten alle
gespeicherten Daten verloren gehen.
Verwendung des Stimmgerts
Auswechseln der Batterie
1. Schlieen Sie das zu stimmende Instrument an der INPUT-Buchse an.
Die Pfeile der Richtanzeige blinken, wenn die

Batteriespannung nachlsst.
Ersetzen Sie die Batterie so bald wie mglich.
Wenn Sie ein akustisches Instrument stimmen, verwenden Sie statt dessen das
eingebaute Mikrofon. Um das Mikrofon zu verwenden, vergewissern Sie sich, dass
an der INPUT- und der OUTPUT-Buchse nichts angeschlossen ist, und stellen Sie
den TU-88 nah am Instrument auf.
* Um Fehlfunktionen und/oder Schden an Lautsprechern oder anderen Gerten zu vermeiden, regeln
Sie stets die Lautstrke herunter und schalten Sie alle Gerte aus, bevor Sie Verbindungen herstellen.
2. Drcken Sie die [ ]-Taste, um das Gert einzuschalten.

3. Drcken Sie die [ TUNER]-Taste, um in den Stimmmodus zu schalten.
4. Drcken Sie die [SEL]-Taste, und whlen Sie dann mit den Tasten [ ]
[ ] den Stimmmodus aus (CHROMATIC, GUITAR oder BASS).
5. Falls erforderlich, nehmen Sie mit den Tasten [SEL] sowie [ ] und
[ ] Einstellungen fr Flat Tuning (Saiten tiefer stimmen) und/oder
Referenztonhhe vor.
Wenn Sie Ihre Einstellungen vorgenommen haben, drcken Sie [SEL] solange, bis
das Display aufhrt zu blinken.
6. Spielen Sie einen einzigen Ton auf dem Instrument.

Die Hhen- und die Richtanzeige zeigen an, wie weit der Ton von der richtigen
Tonhhe entfernt ist.
4. Schlieen Sie die Abdeckung des Batteriefachs wieder.

Lorsque la fonction Accu-Pitch est active, un signal sonore est mis lorsque le son

Como usar o afinador

1. Conecte o instrumento a ser afinado ao plugue INPUT.
Caso voc esteja usando um instrumento acstico, use o microfone interno em seu
lugar. Para usar o microfone, verifique se no h nada conectado aos plugues
INPUT ou OUTPUT e coloque o TU-88 prximo ao instrumento.

Het stemapparaat gebruiken

1. Sluit het instrument dat moet worden gestemd aan op de INPUTaansluiting.
Gebruik de ingebouwde microfoon als u een akoestisch instrument stemt. Zorg
ervoor dat er niets is aangesloten op de INPUT- of OUTPUT-aansluitingen en plaats
de TU-88 in de buurt van het instrument om de microfoon te gebruiken.

Als de Accu Pitch-functie is ingeschakeld, maakt het stemapparaat een piepend

De metronoom gebruiken
