How did you get scouted?
I was playing in a game for a Sunday league side and we played
against a team full of Brentford academy players and we got
thrashed, I was distraught, but then their manager liked what he
saw and asked for me to come for a trial and it took off from there
Who were some of the players you played with?
So there were a few players that went on to be successful in the top
division with clubs like Arsenal and millwall, there was Brian
Mcdermott who went to have a successful career with Arsenal and
then was Paul Goddard who went onto play for Millwall.
What is your favourite moment or moments?
I remember being on the team bus with the first team before the FA
Cup final for Southampton vs Man Utd with the first team players
like Bobby Stokes, Osgood and it was just brilliant, the fans were
banging against the bus looking at me cheering and they didnt
even know who I was it was just brilliant.
There was a game for Wycombe wanderers and the balls been
played in by the winger and the balls hit me right on my nose and I
am completely knocked out, im woken up by the medical team on
the pitch and all they say is we have to clear the corner and thats
the game, so the game ended, I dont remember much but they just
sat me in the corner with a beer.
