The result of interaction: verbal and non-verbal message
Communication takes form of talk or gesture or non-verbal message. Talk
or signal sends peoples thought and feeling
The scholars research areas in intercultural communication: the influence
of the setting/the study of the environment, the success or failure of
communication.
The discussion based on chapter Intercultural communication and
classroom, written by Jane Anderson and Robert Paul.
The lecture gets more specific by discuss about the mental image of
classroom. Everyone has their own perspective how the classroom is.
The culture influences how student see the teachers do a relationship and
understand what they talk about. The culture establishes and influences
interaction and communication patterns. Culture provides system of
knowledge to teach us how to interpret their verbal and non-verbal
behaviour. Culture influences students participation in classroom.
Ritual is systematic procedure to certain act. Every classroom has their
own ritual.

Vietnam highly controlled by the teacher. Teacher and lecturer
are the symbol of learning and culture.

To be succeed in communication in second language classroom, not only
learns spoken language, but also need to meet the expectation procedure
participation.
