WHAT ARE MIRRORS?

A mirror is an object that reflects light in
such a way that, for incident light in some
range of wavelengths, the reflected light
preserves many or most of the detailed
physical characteristics of the original
light.

WHAT DO THEY DO?

THEY REFLECT LIGHT RAYS.
THEY CAN ALSO RECREATE AN OBJECT OR
IMAGE.

CONVEX MIRRORS
light is reflected by convex mirrors in a
manner that a virtual image is formed
A ray travelling parallel to the
principal axis virtually emanates
from the virtual focal point after
reflection by the mirror

CONCAVE MIRRORS

A concave mirror can make images that

appear to float in the air! In this lesson,
you will learn about what
concave mirrors look like and
how they work.
