Target Audience

The audience of the website will be towards 16-35 year olds however, some people may like
the clothing on the website and are not in the audience age categories so it can be open to
anyone. Having the website looking professional will appeal to this target audience because
it is a more mature audience. However, the gender I will be targeting will be males because
the clothing will be towards male only. I have done this because I want to make a website,
which specialises in mens clothing. The website will be also designed to fit for purpose
towards my target audience. By having my colour scheme silver, white and black this will
make it suitable for my target audience.

Functions and Requirements

On my website, I will have different fonts for different text. For the information pages, I will
have the text a simple font such as Calibri because it will be easily readable in a large
quantity. This is why I wanted a simple background because it will distract the text and with
having, a simple background the text will be visible. I will have bold text for subtitles, create
some text In Photoshop for heading, and add effects to it so it makes the text stand out.
In my website I will have various screen icons such as social media icons so the user can
keep in touch and follow the website. I will have 4 icons which consists of a Facebook
icon, Twitter YouTube and Instagram These will be created in Photoshop and change
the colour to suit my colour scheme
The navigation for my website will be very simple but effective. I want my website to be
easily navigated by everyone so a lot needs to be considered. The navigation bars will be at
the top of the web page and when the cursor is over the button, I want a drop down menu
for more options such as type of clothing (Size and brand) This will make the website a lot
more interactive if I add a drop down menu.

Resources
When creating my website, I will need equipment and resources to help me build the site.
Programs, software and hardware will be needed to create my website and to a high quality.
Different programs will be needed to create this site for example the most important
program is Adobe Premiere. This program allows me to create the site using HTML. I will
also need hardware which is a computer, keyboard and mouse. This also needs to come
with an operating system which is compatible with the programs.

Copyright
Copyright law originated in the United Kingdom from a concept of common law; the Statute
of Anne 1709. It became statutory with the passing of the Copyright Act 1911. The current
act is the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. The laws were implemented to make
sure people who created some kind of work and prevent people from stealing your work to
benefit themselves.
Before this law was an act people could copy someones work and claim that the work was
from them. This was a big problem to companys so they decided to have this act mainly on
the web due to it is open to the world and it is easier to steal work from the web such as
images, videos and music. These assets are included in my product so this is why I need to
consider where I get my assets from. The copyright law protects the IT industry because
mainly copyrighting takes place on the web.
Images are popular target for copyright. Images such as logos are sometimes copyrighted
so no one can use their logo for beneficial purposes. The person who creates an image (the
creator), such as somebody who takes a photo, will generally be the owner of the original
copyright. However, if it was created as part of the creators job, the employer will generally
own the copyright. Images on the internet may have the copyrighted symbol in front of the
image to prevent anyone using it however some images dont. The copyright symbol does
not have to be present for copyright to exist, so just because there is no name or copyright
symbol associated with a photo or image does not mean the copyright has expired.

Ethical
When creating a multimedia product, you need to ensure that you make the assets included
in the product suitable for the target audience. For example, if the target audience were
kids you will need to ensure that anything you put in the product that wont offend the
users. Also this protects such as racist comments which will offend people and affect the
product. This will always be breaking the law and could cause a lot of problems. People may
be most likely to break the law on the internet because people may think that theyre
anonymous. But you can be tracked and found so everything needs to be considered before
publishing to the world. There is rules that can help you to avoid is.

You arent allowed to use a picture, video or sound unless the person who has full
control of the assets give you permission to use them.
You cant make a written statement of someone which could offend them and any
abusive language which could affect their reputation.
You arent allowed to use anyones piece of work without permission (copyright law)
You have to be careful that you dont offend someone this goes by
Race
Gender (female and male)
Sexuality (homosexual and heterosexual)
Disability
Nationality
Class (higher class or lower class)
Age (adults and children)

On my product I made sure that I did not breach any of the above. I made sure that the
product was suitable for anyone for example different races and made sure any content on
my product wouldnt offend anyone. I did this by not using images that are copyrighted so I
will not break any laws. Also not using anyones work this includes any assets or design of
the product. Another way I did not break any ethical rules is that I made sure that the text in
my product didnt have any abusive language and made sure it is suitable for my target
audience. Some images I found had.

Timescale
When creating my website, I have deadlines which I will have to meet so I need some
guidelines to take so I make sure that I meet these deadlines. I will have a diary in which
every time I work on the website I will create a word document and add screenshots and
write what I did that lesson. So before starting the website every lesson I can go back to my
diary and review it and see what I did the previous lesson.

Confidential
On my website I will have confidential information from users who buy the products I sell so
any information I have needs to be secure and not let the information of my customers
leak. I will have security measures on my website to keep hackers from attacking the site.

Page details
For my website I will have different pages in which will have information about my clothing.
I will have a Home Page a About us Page and also a page for my products which will
have different categories for example different clothing. For my home page I will display my
banner which I created in Photoshop and it shows the different cloths the website sells. The
about page will show information on where the site is based and how customers can
contact us from email or phone. Most of my content are images of the clothing which will be
clickable to purchase. Throughout the different pages my website will have the same layout
because I wanted it to keep it simple.
Legal issues
When creating a website there is legal regulations and issues that are required. This is to
protect the customer and the company. The Ecommerce Regulations only apply to service
providers established in the UK. However, service providers established elsewhere in the EU
will have to comply with equivalent requirements under the national law of the state in
which they are established.
The following checklist covers the main items that are required for businesses trading
online.

Full company details:

Business Name

UK geographic address

because it is against the law to discriminate anyone.

and heavy fines.
