To go back in history prior to this event, it is noteworthy that after an

TODAY OF THE SECRETARY

What would not the boss without his secretary? What will become of it
without the support of his right arm in the office? Therefore, the
importance of the secretary in day to day business, every April 26 is
made to a recognition of their work.
To know the origin of your day, you have to know first that the image of
secretary is associated with typewriters. This invention originated in
1714, when Englishman Henry Mill patented an "artificial machine
capable of turning any written on paper." Although history indicates that
Cristopher Latham Sholes invented the typewriter in 1868.
In 1873, Sholes decided to sign a contract with a bankrupt gunsmith to
reproduce the model. The visionary named Remington, who was the first
to attempt the commercial utility of the invention created by Sholes,
which he named "Remington". At that time, Lilian Sholes and one of the
daughters of Remington devoted to promoting the new invention, being
the pioneer of the current secretaries.
On June 23, 1873, Lilian Sholes was the first secretary recorded history,
after finally give commercial use to the machine invented by his father
years before.
In the 60s, the company Remington took the initiative to establish a
special day for secretaries. The target date was June 23, as a memory of
the day gave Lilian Sholes use the first typewriter.
In that decade, and in the 70s, Latin American women began to demand
working positions, with equal opportunities and fairer wages.
In that environment, in the early 70s was held in Buenos Aires
(Argentina), the first American Congress of Secretaries, where it was
agreed to set April 26 as the Day of the Secretariat in the 26 countries
that attended this assembly, which also agreed to the creation of the
Inter-American Federation of Associations of Secretaries (FIAS).

In recent decades, the role of secretary was more relevant and its image
is not associated with a typewriter but a computer screen. With the
presence of modernity, such as technology, the secretary left the image
of "listening, writes and silent", to play an increasingly active role in the
company in which it operates.
Secretary in the world:
The first secretaries in history were women who had to deal with one of
the planet's biggest problems: the wars. At that time, they were used to
work at home, children and husbands. When the war ended, the wives
were devoted to communication by telegraph, typing and shorthand.
The war left sequels and one of them was the economic crisis that hurt
Europe. This required the active participation by family members. While
the children did the impossible to acquire higher education, the
daughters who were not married were allied to the typewriter.
June 26 is a date where the contribution of the secretaries in workplaces
recognized. It is the manager of the manager's time with the
collaboration, that this is due not to worry rather than making decisions
that benefit the progress of the company.

How our language originated?
The word language has Greek origin and means how to express or

Archeology, paleo-demography and linguistic geography increasingly
provide new information about the likely dispersal of modern humans
from the lake regions of Africa to Asia, Australasia and the Americas via
Beringia. At the same time, human activity -Fabrication of artifacts,
trade, cultural innovations is part of the overall process of adaptation of
the species. Therefore, languages have had to follow the same route as
speakers and adapt to the need to name everything in the universe.
Languages are not static entities but are constantly changing. For shows
what happens with youth jargons, which make daily expand the lexicon
of our language. The words are adapted to the regions and customs of
people and depending on the viviencias of these people will bring new
definitions. Our beautiful language originated in Castilla (Spain) to the
ninth century AD. C, but it took several centuries to establish itself as a
language.
The Spanish language extends today across the globe, is the second
most important language in the world and the third most spoken with
400 million native inhabitants. The Castilian, as we know it today is the
result of a process of transformation of more than a millennium,
involving various languages of the inhabitants of the Iberian Peninsula

Towards the end of the fifteenth century with the union of the kingdoms
of Castile and Aragon, which extended their rule over most of the
peninsula, the language of Castile, the Castilian, it was imposed on other
languages and dialects and was brought to America by the
conquistadors.
The Spanish arrived in the Americas through successive voyages of
Christopher Columbus and then the waves of settlers in America seeking
new opportunities. In his attempt to communicate with the natives, they
resorted to using gestures and then to European performers or captive
Indians. Thanks to the interaction between the many cultures of America
and settlers, the Spanish was learned by the natives in much of the

DAY OF WATER
A drop of water is flexible. A drop of water is powerful. A drop of water is
more necessary than ever.
Water is an essential element of sustainable development. Water
resources, and the range of services they provide, play a key role in
poverty reduction, economic growth and environmental sustainability.
Water promotes the welfare of the population and inclusive growth, and
has a positive impact on the lives of billions of people, to influence
issues affecting food and energy security, human health and the
environment.
World Water Day 2016: "Water and employment".
Water means employment
Water is an essential element of life. But it is more than essential to
quench thirst or health protection; Water is vital for creating jobs and
support economic, social and human development.
Today, half the world's workers (1.5 billion people) working in sectors
related to water. Moreover, almost all jobs, regardless of the sector,
depend directly on this. However, despite the inextricable link between
work and water, millions of people whose lives depend on the liquid
element often are not recognized or protected by the basic labor rights.
The power of water and employment transform the lives of people.
Half of all workers on the ground are employed in sectors related to
water, but millions of them are not recognized or protected.
March 22 is a day to highlight the essential role of water and promote
improvements to the world's population suffering from water-related
problems. It is a day to discuss how we manage water resources in the
future. In 1993, the United Nations General Assembly appointed him as
World Water Day. It's been 23years and is still held worldwide.

DAY OF EARTHS

Earth day
Earth Day is a day celebrated in many countries on April 22. Its sponsor,
US Senator Gaylord Nelson, established this day to create a common
problems
of
overpopulation
awareness,
pollution
production,
conservation of biodiversity and other environmental concerns to protect
the Earth. It is a day to honor and recognize our planet Earth as our
home and our mother, as have expressed different cultures throughout
history, demonstrating the interdependence between ecosystems and
living beings that inhabit.
History
In 1968, Morton Hilbert and the US Public Health Service (Service Public
US Health) organized the Symposium of Human Ecology, a conference
appointees is done above for an environmental assembly conference for
students heard scientists talk about the effects environmental
deterioration in health humana.2 This was the first antecedent of Earth
Day. Over the next two years, Hilbert and his students worked to plan
first emerged Day earth.3 other efforts as Survival Project (Survival
Project), one of the first educational events environmental awareness,
which was held in Northwestern University on 23 January 1970. This was
the first of several events held on college campuses across the United
States. Also, Ralph Nader began talking about the importance of ecology
in 1970.
The first demonstration took place on April 22, 1970, sponsored by
Senator Gaylord Nelson and environmental activist, for the creation of an
environmental agency. They participated in this competition two
thousand universities, ten thousand schools (primary and secondary)
and hundreds of communities. The social pressure had its achievements
and the government of the United States created the Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) and a series of laws aimed at protecting the
environment.

WORK

In 1972 the first international conference on the environment was held.

The United Nations Conference on the Human Environment, whose
objective was to sensitize world leaders on the magnitude of
environmental problems.
Origin of the term
According to Gaylord Nelson, the term "Earth Day" was "an obvious and
logical name" suggested by "certain people" in the fall of 1969,
including, he says, "a friend of mine who had been in the field public
relations and advertising executive from New York, "Julian Koenig 5 who
had been on the organizing committee of Nelson in 1969. the idea came
to Koenig by the coincidence between his birthday and the day chosen,
22 of April; English, Earth Day (Earth Day) rhymes with birthday
(birthday), the connection seemed natural.6 7 other names circulated
during preparations -the same Nelson continued calling him National
Environment Teach-In (National Meeting of Environment) but the national
coordinator Denis Hayes, used the term Earth Day in its press and media
coverage of the event was virtually unanimous in the term Earth Day, so
the name stuck.
Importance of April 22
Gaylord Nelson chose the date so that participation in universities is
maximized, since he considered a meeting between teachers and
students. He determined that the week from 19 to 25 April was the best
bet, as this did not match the exams or holidays primavera.8 Moreover,
this date had no conflict with religious holidays such as Easter or
Passover, and it was too late in spring to have decent weather. More
students prefer to be in class and would be less competition with other
events mid week -so chose Wednesday, April 22. The day also coincided
with the birthday of John Muir, conservationist remarkable.
Unbeknownst to Nelson, 9 on April 22, 1970 was, coincidentally, the
hundredth anniversary of the birth of Lenin, when he moved to the
Gregorian calendar, which was adopted by the Russians until 1918. Time
magazine reported that many do not they thought the date was a
coincidence, but a clue that the event was a "communist deception" and
quoted a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, saying,
"subversive elements plan to make American children live in an
environment that it is good for them "10 John Edgar Hoover, director of

connection with Lenin, since it was presumed that the FBI carried out
surveillance at demonstrations of 1970.11 the idea of that the date was
chosen to celebrate Lenin's centenary still persists in some quarters.
Controversy with other celebrations
World Wildlife Day
Main article: World Wildlife Day
Background
On 20 December 2013, the General Assembly of the UN in its 68th
session, decided to proclaim March 3 as the World Wildlife Day, with the
aim of raising awareness about the value of wildlife and wild plants . The
chosen date marks the anniversary of the adoption in 1973 of the
Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna
and Flora (CITES, its acronym in English), which plays an important role
in protecting the species against international trade. [1] Previously, on
March 3 had been designated as World Wildlife Day in a resolution [2] of
the Conference of the Parties to CITES at its 16th meeting held in
Bangkok from 3 to 14 March 2013. the resolution, cosponsored by the
United Kingdom and Thailand, reported the conclusions of the meeting
to the General Assembly of the UN.
Observations
UN adopts the celebration to reaffirm the importance of the world's flora
and fauna. It is focused on nature conservation, as well as the reiteration
of its social value and contribution to the environment and that no
species is exploited to the point of extinction. The celebration of Earth
Day is more global, as concern responds to the interests of the planet.
"The World Wildlife Day and the Earth Day reminds us of the urgent need
to intensify the fight against crime against wildlife on the planet and
even more against humans, as it has spacious, environmental, economic
impacts health and social ".
Equinox Day
The equinoctial Earth Day is celebrated on the March equinox, around
day 20, to mark the exact moment of astronomical spring in the

Northern Hemisphere, and the astronomical autumn in the Southern

Hemisphere. An equinox is, in astronomy, the point in time (not a whole
day) when the sun is directly above the Earth Ecuador. It happens
around March 20 and September 23 of each year. In most cultures the
equinoxes and solstices mark the beginning or end of the seasons.
There is dispute over who first used the term Earth Day. In 1969, John
McConnell14 presented to UNESCO, at the Conference on Environment,
the idea of a worldwide celebration of Earth Day, and says: 15 "the first
day of spring is the time of the equinox where the sun crosses the
Ecuador celestial causing day and night last the same -taking the planet
to a state of equilibrium. This is the true Earth Day, not because I have
selected, but because this originates in the rotation itself and revolution
of the Earth. "On March 21, 1970, the San Francisco Mayor Joseph Alioto,
issued first proclamation; various celebrations were held in this city and
in Davis (California), California, with street parties for several days. U
Thant, UN Secretary General at the time, supported McConnell's global
initiative for this event will be held annually; Thus, the February 26,
1971, he signed a statement to that effect.

Dona Ana taught the little Rafael first letters. At eleven, in 1844, he
entered the seminary.
Studied Latin there would make him a skilful translator of the classics;
Marcelino Menndez Pelayo said of his translations: "There are none
more brave and bold in our language."
In Greco-Roman poets Horace and translated episode of Laocoon of
Virgil. Also he poured into Castilian The dying poet of Alphonse de
Lamartine, and Shakespeare's Hamlet soliloquy.
It seems that the penchant for poetry was born in Pombo early. And ten
years had copied poems and translations in a booklet titled literary
pantheon. In 1846 he joined the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Seora del
Rosario, where he studied humanities; in 1848 he received the degree in
mathematics and engineering at the Military College who had recently
founded the General Tomas Cipriano de Mosquera.
Although never formally worked as an engineer, it is known that some
studies conducted for urban upgrading of Bogota. Recent graduate, was
a member of the Filotmica Society, in which newspaper first published
poems under the pseudonym Firatelio. These early works, loaded with a
sentimental tone, glimpse echoes of Campoamor, Zorrilla, Garcilaso and
the legendary Lord Byron.

He later traveled to Popayan, where his mother's family had property,

writing there two of his best known poems: The glass of wine and my
love, signed with the pseudonym Edda. It was believed that this poem
was the work of an enigmatic and brilliant poet until it Pombo revealed
his authorship; the story shows how assimilated female psychology and
different way of feeling and expressing love. In the company of writers
Jos Eusebio Caro and Jos Mara Vergara y Vergara he founded in 1852
La Siesta, literary organ of strong romantic tint.
In 1855 he traveled to New York as secretary of the Colombian legation
in this city. He remained seventeen years in the United States, during
which he lived in Washington and Philadelphia (where he was consul),
this being the era of creative fulfillment. Perhaps contact with a culture

and language different sonorities gave a universal twist to his work. He

also maintained contact with personalities of the intelligentsia as Henry
Wadsworth Longfellow and William Cullen Bryant. They then translated
to English poets, French and German, and painted children's (1867)
stories were published for the first time in New York.
In an emotional ceremony (which coincidentally coincided with the night
he died Diego Fallon, his great companion generation), Rafael Pombo
was crowned national poet August 20, 1905, in the Coln theater. On 6
February 1912 he replaced Manuel Mara Mallarino as a member of the
Colombian Academy of Language, which was permanent secretary.
The work of Rafael Pombo
Along with Jose Asuncion Silva, Rafael Pombo is the most prominent of
Colombian poets of the nineteenth century. Favored for its economic
well-being, he was the first who assumed the poetic work as main
activity throughout their life journey, at a time when others chose to
obey the orders of the muse only peripherally.
With Pombo born in an environment of still colonial accent, a new poetry
on the continent. His poetry melts subjectivity and philosophical
meditation, reflective feeling of love and nature, religious throb and use
of experience. God, nature and women are protagonists in his work, and
rebellion, vigor and irony, so it is an odd sum of author between devout
and demonic. His romantic inspiration toured the roads from Zorrilla and
Victor Hugo to Byron and Leopardi, through the Greek and Latin classics,
which strove to translate, as well as many English and French.

MIGUEL DE SERVANTES SAAVEDRA

novelist, ironic and clever poet, playwright. He was born on September
29, 1547 in Alcala de Henares, or at least that is what is said, although
there are versions of dates and years, no one has the exact figure.
His father, of Cordovan ancestry and Galician ancestors, named Rodrigo
de Cervantes and was a surgeon, who was in those days a very open
trade, and as extirpated teeth, pains and wounds healed sewed. A true
"quack".
His mother was Leonor de Cortinas, of which little is known, except that
he was born in Arganda del Rey.
Michael was the youngest of five children and no precise data on the
studies, which certainly did not become university.
It follows, by the character of the bachelor Samson Carrasco, that
Cervantes felt certain repulsion by togados. However there are some

clues in contemporary documents suggest that Cervantes may have

attended any school in Seville. It is also quite possible to study in the
Society of Jesus, as in the novel "The Dialogue of the Dogs" made a
description of a Jesuit college with certain allusions to what would be his
student life.
The earliest traces about his passage through life originated in 1566,
when set in Madrid. Study attends Villa, run by Professor of grammar
Juan Lpez de Hoyos, who in 1569 asked a book about the illness and
death of Queen Isabel de Valois and this includes three poems by
Cervantes.
In 1569, he traveled to Rome. There he read the chivalric poets who will
influence his work. In those days you begin to set his stories that are
now known as "Exemplary Novels" and worth named "El licenciado
Vidriera" the story of a doctor who thinks be glass, of course, a draft of
Don Quixote. On October 7, 1571 he participated in the Battle of
Lepanto, as Cervantes would say: "the grandest occasion that saw
centuries past, present, or expect to see the coming" as part of the
Christian army led by Don Juan Austria. This naval battle was injured two
arquebus shots in the chest and lost his hand, from that comes the
nickname "El Manco de Lepanto".
His left hand was not cut, but is ossified to lose movement thereof when
a piece of lead he severed a nerve. Those wounds should not be too
serious, then, after six months in a hospital in Messina, Cervantes
resumed his military career in 1572. His condition soldier leads him to
take part in other military expeditions, until returning to Spain , he is
arrested, along with a brother, by Barbary pirates under the command of
Arnaut Mami
Thus begins a period of hard captivity in Algiers, which lasts more than
five years. Cervantes tries to escape four times, putting himself in
danger to save their comrades, and finally is rescued by the Trinitarian
Fathers, when he was about to be led to Constantinople. then thirtythree years. So far their heroic age; from now on a gray life full of
disappointments. He settled in Madrid and in 1584 married a young
Esquivias, Catalina de Salazar y Palacios from which then separated.
He published his first work, La Galatea, and, abandoning the people of
his wife, he is collecting food for the Invincible. Travel through different

twice in Sevilla, one of them to break the banker in whose hands had
deposited Cervantes taxes charged of Finance, and other unable to pay
this certain arrears . Also in 1589 he was excommunicated by garnishing
cereals Cabildo of Seville.

In 1605 it is in Valladolid. Has now fifty-seven years. He has finished his

hard coming and going by the Spanish cities, but not their misfortunes.
The murder of a gentleman, committed outside his home, resulting in a
new process, although nothing can be proved against him. He is accused
of murder so he went through a brief prison and published the first part
of his masterpiece "Don Quixote".
Cervantes has great experience, rich knowledge of people, places and
situations, his life and his work reflects the profound process of
maturation, in every way, a man dedicated to his ideals, first military
and then literary, with admirable zeal .

Life offered the adverse side; but this very fact enabled the greatest
work of literature. Don Quixote had not been written in the years of
living joyful and enthusiastic, not so much for lack of literary maturity,
but lack of spiritual maturity. The last years of his life happen in Madrid.
He has just published the first part of Don Quixote and wrote tirelessly.
Still intends to return to Italy to accompany the Count Lemos, but fails
and, following this, he is giving quickly to press his latest works: The
Exemplary Novels, the Journey to Parnassus, the theater and the second
part of Don Quixote. Death is surprised at the April 23, 1616, a few days
after writing the dedication of Persiles.
