    anxietyforthefuture.Burnsismakingtheclaimthatourpastisthecauseforouranxietyand
    howwefearwhat'sgoingtocomeforthefuture.Heissayinghowourregretsgivesuspainand
    miseryandthatitisahumanconditionandproblem.
    However,thisraisesthequestionofwhetherthepastisimportanttoremember.Ourpast
    cangiveusregretand/orjoy.Ourpastisimportantbecauseitgivesusareflectionandwecan
    learnourmistakesfromourlives.Thefarmerchoosetodwellonthepastandforgetwhat
    broughthimhappinesslongago.Amousedoesntthinkorhaveaconsciousandthatwouldbe
    dangerousandcanhurtthem.Theycouldbedoingthewrongthingoverandoveragainand
    wouldn'tlearnfromtheirmistakesorthink.
