This week in Math Masters, students have stretched their minds & challenged themselves mathematically! They have completed many math challenges, math books, and math strategy games. They have used teamwork as well as individual work to complete these math strategy challenges. We have played the following new games/activities for our math stations this week: -All About Me as a Mathematician Pic Collages (see our website!) -Mosaics -Tessellations -Patterns/Pattern Blocks -Pattern Block Shapes website - http://invention.si.edu/puzzleblocks -Shapes (like Fractals!) -Origami -Brainteasers -Warm-up challenges (like 111,111,111 x 111,111,111 = ?) We have read the following math books this week: - Fractals, Googols, & Other Mathematical Tales by Theoni Pappas - Lets Fly a Kite by Stuart J.
