BUSINESS LAW (HONORS) (BB30) Grade Level: 9-12 (9th graders have taken the course in the

Prerequisite: NONE (If not offering BF10 Principles of Business and Finance)

This course is designed to introduce students with the basic legal principles common to all aspects of
business and personal law. Topics include concepts to assist students when evaluating contract law,
business ownership including intellectual property, financial law, and national and international laws.
Personal topics include marriage and divorce law, purchasing appropriate insurance, renting and
owning real estate, employment law, and consumer protection laws. Members of the student
organization, Future Business Leaders of American (FBLA), can compete in the Business Law
competitive events at the state and national levels.
HONORS LEVEL In addition to the standard requirements of Business Law, the honors level course
extends the standard course of study to a more challenging level for the student who is highly
motivated, able to work independently and has a history of high academic achievement.

Accounting I (BA10) Grade Level: 9-12

This course is designed to help students understand the basic principles of the accounting cycle.
Emphasis is placed on the analysis and recording of business transactions; preparation and
interpretation of financial statements; accounting systems; banking and payroll activities; basic types
of business ownership; and an accounting career orientation. Members of the student organization,
Future Business Leaders of American (FBLA), can compete in the Accounting I competitive events at
the regional, state and national levels.

Accounting II (BA20) Grade Level: 11-12

This course is designed to provide students with an opportunity to develop in-depth knowledge of
accounting procedures and techniques utilized in solving business problems and making financial
decisions. Emphasis includes departmental accounting; corporate accounting; cost accounting and
inventory control systems; managerial accounting and budgeting; and further enhancement of
accounting skills. Members of the student organization, Future Business Leaders of American (FBLA),
can compete in the Accounting II competitive events at the regional, state and national levels.
