Installation of HARDLOCK network key

The HARDLOCK network key allows a group of PCs in the network to use at the same time
SierraSoft software. The network key must be connected to the parallel port of the computer
which will work as server. With the network all connected computers can use SierraSoft
software.
The maximum number of users connected to the network key is established with the purchase
of SierraSoft software and it is limited by the configuration of the key. To add possible users you
must contact our commercial office.
To avoid regrettable consequences we advice you to connect the network key to a not easily
accessible computer.

1. Prerequisites
You require the following in order to user HARDLOCK network key:

a functioning network (TCP/IP protocol)

a HARDLOCK network key
HL-SERVER software to control the access to the network key, this software is included
in SierraSoft CD
Optionally you can install Aladdin Monitor software for the management and control of
the accesses to the network key, this software is included in SierraSoft CD.

2. Function Modalities
HARDLOCK network key can be connected to any computer in the network; in the same
computer must be installed HL-SEVER software which allows the network key to access to all
the network. All computers which can access to the network key must only have installed
SierraSoft software.
It is possible manage and control all accesses with the Aladdin Monitor software, which can be
installed in any computer of the network.

3. Network key installation

Note. To run the installation it is required to access to the system as Administrator.

connect the network key to the parallel port of the computer that will work as server.
in the same computer where is connected the network key install HL-SERVER software:
o Open HLSW32.EXE in the directory Utility\Hardware\Keys\Hardlock\HL-Server\ of
SierraSoft CD.
o Follow the instructions; this application installs HL-SERVER software and all
drivers for the network key.
Optionally you can install Aladdin Monitor software for the management and control of
the accesses to the network key, this software can be installed in any computer of the
network:
o Open AKSMON32.EXE form directory Utility\Hardware\Keys\Hardlock\HL-Server\
of SierraSoft CD.
Install SierraSoft software in all computers in which the software will be used. To run the
installation it is required to access to the system as Administrator.
