1.

The Eclectic Approach was invented because using one method during learning and teaching
foreign languages process become unsatisfactory. The Eclectic approach incorporates different
techniques and activities taken from whole range of methods and approaches that exist.
Teachers can choose techniques basing on the aims of the lesson and learners needs but they
have to be well-qualified to choose the mehtod and adjust it to the topic so that it will be the
most effective. The Eclectic Approach allows to meet diversed students needs, and support the
environment in heterogeneous classrooms.

2. If I were to create the lesson based on the Eclectic Approach using the reading Scooters,
I would focus on most suitable way for my students to learn as much as they can. According to
the Eclectic Approach I could choose what and how I would like to teach. The most important
area for me, would be to stimulate different kinds of intelligence. As many as it is possible, to
meet my learners needs. It is known, that students work on different paces and have a diversed
learning styles.
I would start the lesson involving the bodily-kinesthetic intelligence I would ask my students
to perform the movements related to the text (move, hold, stand, push). I could also use the text
as a TPR activity like action story. What is more, there is a possibility of involving the musical
intelligence we could read the text rhytmically or with intonation (in the text there is fragment
The harder you push on the ground, the faster the scooter will go) that would be a great fun
for young learners. I could also stimulate the interpersonal intelligence by working in pairs describing the pictures of the scooter that differs in A and B group, and they have to complete
it. The intrapersonal intelligence could be incorporated by answering the true/false questions
related to the text qiven by the teacher. It is important to attract the learners so that they will
enjoy the process of learning, and if the content is teached in a meaningful way it is easier for

them to remember the material. I would also organize an activity to support the linguistic
intelligence, like reading or word games I would try to stimulate as many of multiple
intelligences as possible by using picture, humor, movement and sounds to facilitate the process
of learning to my students.
