to test the arterial portion of
TOS (testing the radial artery)
by positioning the patient in
the same position but while
looking for neurologicalsigns,
the radial pulse is also taken.
If the pulse decreases when the
patient is in the test position
(called
the hyperabduction test or
elevated arm stress test [EAST]
), it is considered a positive
test TOS.
