to twist. In the following round, you will twist each point and work into the ch-3 sp at the
center top of the point. The wrong side of the stitches on the previous 2 rounds will be facing
you as you work Rnd 8. Make sure that you twist each point in the same direction! Also be
sure to twist the first point into the proper position before joining.
Rnd 8: Sl st to center of first ch-3 sp, (ch 1, sc) in first ch-3 sp, (ch 3, dc in 3 rd ch from hook) 4

sl st in first sc. (12 sc, 48 eyelet sps made)

Working the Eyelet spaces of Rnd 8. Notice that I picked up the wrong hook when I took this
photo; this is a size 5, but I actually used a size 7 to make the doily. You will twist the first
point into position before joining at the end of Rnd 8.

Trick or Treat Doily: A Free Crochet Pattern For You
Several years ago I designed the Trick or Treat Doily as the gift pattern that came with the
purchase of my Stella Luna Doily. It was not the design I had originally planned to create, but
my first idea just didn't want to work out for me. After almost a week of frustration, I finally
gave up on it and started a new design. The second doily seemed to flow easily, and Trick or
Treat was born. You can read about how it came to be here:
The Doily That Got Away
But when the patterns were released, much to my surprise, Trick or Treat began to take on a
life of its own, and was actually much more popular than Stella Luna. People began to ask if I
would sell it as a single pattern, and it quickly became one of my best sellers.
Today, I am pleased to offer it to you as a free pattern.
I hope you will find it a 'treat' and not a 'trick' to create!
