Earth
Day
inspired
lesson.
Using
styrofoam
trays
that
would
normally
be
thrown
away
or
recycled,
students
indented
designs
in
them
using
dull
pencils.
Focus
was
placed
on
only
using
different
types
of
lines
and
shapes
when
creating
their
design.
Once
their
design
was
finished,
students
used
ink
rollers
to
roll
tempera
paint
onto
the
design
side
of
their
Styrofoam
square.
They
then
pushed
the
square
down
on
a
sheet
of
paper
4
times,
next
to
one
another.
This
technique
is
called
block
printing.
