Pronouncing Complex Words 6


The same rules that apply to reading also apply to
speaking [speking] correct English. Without knowledge
[nolij] of phonics, students will have problems
reproducing the correct vowel and consonant sounds when
pronouncing complex words [wordz]. Also, studying
phonics is necessary [nesesere] for those who [hoo]
want to speak English without a heavy accent [aksent].
